Working Principles Laser Ranging Principle: The device emits a laser pulse toward the target and measures the time taken for the pulse to travel to the target and back. Based on the known speed of light, the distance between the device and the target is calculated using the formula: d = c × t / 2, where d is the distance, c is the speed of light, and t is the round-trip time of the laser pulse. Ultrasonic Ranging Principle: Utilizing the speed of sound in air, the device emits an ultrasonic wave, which reflects off an obstacle and returns. The device then receives the reflected wave and calculates the distance to the obstacle by measuring the time difference between emission and reception. The formula applied is: d = v × t / 2, where v is the speed of sound in air, and t is the round-trip time of the ultrasonic wave. Infrared Ranging Principle: Typically, an infrared LED emits modulated infrared light, which reflects off an object and is received by a detector. The distance is calculated by measuring the phase difference between the emitted and received infrared light.
